The Scottish Commission on Social Security (SCoSS) is able to provide all of the information you requested

1. Number of staff employed by SCoSS

As of today’s date SCoSS has three Members and Chair. However, the Members and Chair of SCoSS are public appointees and are not employed by SCoSS.

All secretariat staff working for SCoSS are civil servants employed by the Scottish Government therefore SCoSS do not employ any staff.

As of today’s date there are four civil servants and one contractor within SCoSS Secretariat.

2. How many work in the office

As Scottish Government employees, all SCoSS Secretariat staff can work in Victoria Quay in Edinburgh, where the team is normally based, or at any of the other buildings in Scottish Government’s estate.

As Scottish Government employees, all of the Secretariat staff have begun to explore hybrid arrangements for working both in the office and at home.

3. How many work at home all of the time

As the Board Members are public appointees and not employees, they are not subject to the same hybrid working arrangements of Scottish Government.
